About Us

We Prioritise Quality in Pharmaceutical Compounding

With a solid foundation of knowledge in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy and an extensive experience in pharmaceutical compounding, ASL Pharma is a group of enthusiastic, caring professionals that share a common goal: offering personalised services using quality products. We have ingrained quality into the core of our business since day one - ASL Pharma procures only pharmaceutical-grade raw materials supplied by Professional Compounding Chemists of Australia (PCCA), who is a FDA-approved and GMP-licensed manufacturer. In fact, we are proud to be the only PCCA member in Malaysia – our quality is unmatched!

Raw Materials

Quality product begins at the very first step when we choose our supplier. This aligns with PCCA’s commitment in providing utmost quality and safety in compounding through their launch of The PCCA Standard. They find the best active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturer via a 4-step process, which includes manufacturer assessment, sample testing, PCCA formula testing, and manufacturer reassessment. On top of these, PCCA also conducts over 20 checks, tests and verification on every lot of chemicals they receive. Every batch of their raw materials is always accompanied with a Certificate of Analysis and Material Safety Data Sheet.

Quality Control

Quality control and assurance continues on our end upon receiving the raw materials from all of our suppliers. On a regular basis, we conduct random samplings and send them to a third-party analytical laboratory for analytical testing, for example, but not limited to, identification, pH, microbial contamination, heavy metal, water content, and potency. We would then verify the analytical results with their respective supporting documents to ensure accuracy and safety. In addition, we also subject our finished, compounded products to stability and potency testing from time to time.

Stringent Procedures

ASL Pharma goes above and beyond the required standards by adhering to USP standards with our best efforts, particularly USP 795 Pharmaceutical Compounding – Nonsterile Preparations, USP 650 Packaging and Storage Requirements and USP 800 Hazardous Drugs – Handling in Healthcare Settings. Every step of our production is monitored by a compounding software, which not only automatically populates measurements but also tracks all orders meticulously.

At ASL Pharma, we emphasise on performance improvement through our continual efforts in assessing current processes using a risk-based approach. We then restructure current practices to support achievements of desired outcomes, with the ultimate goal of increasing patient safety. To uphold high standards, we have training plans in place, particularly for our team of compounding pharmacists and technicians; they stay updated with industry advancements and regulatory requirements through continuous education and training programs.
